M-Step Parent Letter from MDE
This spring students in grades 3-8 and 11 will be participating in a new State of Michigan assessment.  The new test M-Step (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) takes the place of MEAP.  Please see the attached letter from State Superintendent Mike Flanagan for more information.
 
Balanced Calendar Update 3-23-15

Kindergarten Round Up

Kindergarten Round Up is just around the corner. Parent meeting is Thursday April 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the Western Community Arts Center 1400 S. Dearing Rd. Current Pre-K parents need not attend.

Mom 2 Mom Sale

Gear Up for SUPER SCIENCE!
Spring Arbor University has opened registration for this summer's Cougar Science Camp 2015! Students that have completed Kindergarten through 8th grade are eligible to register. Click here for information and registration form.

 
Summer Camp Opportunities!
Jackson Area Manufacturers Association and the Academy for Manufacturing Careers are teaming up to offer four summer camp programs this year!  Camps are: "I Can Make It! Camp," "Machining U," "Girl M-Powered," and "Underwater Remote Operated Vehicle Camp."  The camps are week-long and range in price from $149-199.  Click here for information on all camps.

 
May Institute of Tae Park Tae Kwon Do
Our students in grade 3-5 were entertained during our Wednesday morning assembly by Tae Kwon Do Master Peter May.  He was joined by some of his students who are also students here at Bean!  If you're interested in Tae Kwon Do Self-Defense classes, click here to find out about joining this group.


 
Albion College Sport Clinics
Albion College is offering Sport Clinics to students between 4 and 11 years old.  The clinics are free and begin on January 24 and run through April 25.  They feature a variety of events.  Click here for more information.

 
Western Backpack Program
Western is once again able to offer our Western Backpack Program!  In cooperation with the South Central Food Bank, Western is able to offer this supplemental food program to interested families.  Please click here for information about the program and a sign up sheet.
